The book traces over fifty years of research and architecture against the impending background of the history of Qatar. Through a selection of about thirty projects illustrated by photographs and drawings, the book reveals the capacity of the Arab Engineering Bureau to respect tradition and at the same time espouse the future of Qatar, which is currently involved in preparations for the 2022 World Cup, and the economic, social and environmental development plan Qatar National Vision 2030. Ibrahim Mohamed Jaidah's critical commitment to acknowledge the vernacular architectural tradition, along with his great experience stemming from important collaborations of a contemporary nature outside the Persian Gulf nations, have led to the consolidation of the Arab Engineering Bureau as one of the most important firms within the process of Qatar's modernization, which looks to architecture as an instrument capable of building identity and culture, and to the project as a benefactor for a sustainable environment, the economy and the local community.--
